Midge Hill grew up along the Ohio River which flooded on a regular basis. She grew up in a steel mill and coal mine country, bathroom out back.
Hill got her first job in radio WWVA, Wheeling West Virginia making the coffee. The program director said he liked the sound of her voice and asked her if she ever did any air work. She said, "Airwork? I breathe every day, all day long!"
He put her on the air doing spots and then forced her into the newsroom. "Such fear. Next thing I knew I was on TV in Wheeling, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Chicago."
Hill has two sons, Bunker Hill, Natatorium Director for CFBISD, and Zack Hill, Senior Director of Communications for the Philadelphia Flyers. She also has three granddaughters, Nellsyn at Baylor, a theater major, Madilyn, at SMU in classical ballet, and Roxanne at Prince of Peace Christian School. "They're so cool."
